Islamabad (Web Desk): The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) on Tuesday called off their month-long sit-in outside the National Press Club (NPC) in Islamabad against the enforced disappearance of and extrajudicial killings.
Dr Mahrang Baloch, one of the protest organisers, announced that they are returning to Balochistan from Islamabad.
“We will hold a rally in Balochistan on January 27,” the Bolch activist added.
The announcement came a day after the NPC wrote a letter to the Islamabad police requesting the removal of the Baloch rights camp.
However, the NPC’s request was later withdrawn following severe criticism from all quarters, including journalists.
In response to the NPC letter, Dr Mahrang had expressed dismay and shared the copy of the letter on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

It is pertinent to mention that the Baloch protesters had been staging a sit-in organised in front of the federal capital's press club for over a month with a camp established at the site on December 22.
