Afghanistan becomes epicenter of terrorism under Taliban regime: report

Kabul (Web Desk): Under the Taliban’s rule, Afghanistan has become an epicenter of terrorism, drug trade, and human trafficking.

Afghan Taliban are reportedly supporting extremist activities that extend beyond their borders, affecting neighboring countries as well as distant nations like the United States, Canada, and Australia.

The internationally recognized magazine "The Diplomat" reports that the Taliban are offering a secure base for terrorist groups seeking to expand their operations regionally and globally.

The publication stresses that sanctions against the Taliban must be intensified, while promoting support for Afghanistan’s peaceful political factions to prevent attacks similar to the 9/11 tragedy.

"The Diplomat" notes that more than six thousand militants associated with the Fitna-al-Khwarij operate within Afghanistan and possess the ability to carry out attacks outside the country.

The magazine warns that granting official recognition to the Taliban, as Russia has done, would be a serious error given the country’s role as a terrorist sanctuary.

Experts say the international sanctions on Afghanistan should be tightened further until Taliban take clear and verifiable actions against terrorism.
