PM Shehbaz invites increased UAE investments in Pakistan's key sectors

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated Pakistan’s firm commitment to further strengthening its relationship with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and called for increased Emirati investment in priority sectors to support the country’s economic growth and stability.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office Media Wing, PM Shehbaz made these remarks during a meeting with the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Salem Mohammed Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, who paid a courtesy call on him at the Prime Minister’s House.

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi and Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

During the discussion, the prime minister paid tribute to the deep-rooted and brotherly ties between Pakistan and the UAE, noting that the relationship, built on mutual respect, trust and close cooperation, has flourished over several decades.

While expressing satisfaction with the existing level of bilateral trade, he stressed the need to further expand economic engagement between the two countries.

PM Shehbaz highlighted the importance of boosting trade and investment and strengthening collaboration in sectors such as energy, minerals, information technology, railways and aviation.

He also acknowledged the UAE’s continued support for Pakistan during difficult times, including its contributions to humanitarian relief and development projects.

Conveying his warm greetings and best wishes to the UAE leadership, the prime minister said he was eagerly looking forward to the upcoming visit of the UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Al Zaabi and congratulated him on his recent appointment, wishing him success in his diplomatic responsibilities.

In his remarks, Ambassador Al Zaabi thanked the prime minister for the meeting and conveyed cordial greetings from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He reaffirmed the UAE’s strong desire to further deepen cooperation with Pakistan across all fields and assured the prime minister of his efforts to identify new avenues of collaboration for the mutual benefit of both nations.
