Info Minister Tarar visits Darul Uloom Haqqania, calls for national unity

Akora Khattak (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s instructions, paid a visit to Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, where he met prominent religious scholars and exchanged views on maintaining peace, strengthening religious harmony and fostering unity across the country.

Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Information and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Ikhtiar Wali Khan and MPA Jalal Khan were part of the minister’s delegation. Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council and Coordinator of the National Paigham-i-Aman Committee, also attended the gathering.

The visiting delegation was received by members of the Qaumi Paigham-i-Aman Committee, Darul Uloom Haqqania Deputy Administrator Maulana Rashidul Haq Haqqani, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (S) chief Maulana Abdul Haq Sani, Maulana Syed Mohammad Yousuf Shah and other religious figures.

During the meeting, the participants discussed measures aimed at ensuring peace and stability, encouraging interfaith and religious harmony, and strengthening national cohesion in the collective fight against terrorism.

Atta Tarar emphasised that peace, tolerance and unity had become particularly important in the present circumstances.

He said the Qaumi Paigham-e-Aman Committee was actively contributing to the promotion of peace and religious harmony while helping develop a unified national stance against terrorism.

The minister said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting was also making use of the committee’s platform to spread awareness among the public about the importance of peace and stability.

Following the meeting, Atta Tarar and members of the committee toured different parts of the seminary, where they were briefed about its educational activities and religious services.

The minister also visited the historic Jamia Masjid Abdul Haq, situated inside the seminary complex.

During the visit, Atta Tarar and committee members offered prayers for the elevation of the ranks of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Mohammad Idrees Tarangzai, Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani and Maulana Samiul Haq.

Religious scholars from different schools of thought reaffirmed their dedication to peace and national cohesion and stressed the importance of united efforts to confront the challenge of terrorism.
