Lahore ranked 2nd most polluted city globally as air quality crisis persists in Punjab

Lahore (Web Desk): The air pollution situation in Punjab remains critically severe, with Lahore being ranked as one of the world's second most polluted cities.

According to the Punjab Environment Department, the level of Air Particulate Matter (PM) in Lahore has reached a dangerously high level of 414, which is hazardous to human health. In other cities, Khanewal recorded a PM level of 412, Faisalabad at 354, and Multan at 342.

The World Air Quality Index (WAQI) reports that Lahore's Air Quality Index (AQI) stands at 330, while the Indian capital New Delhi tops the list with an AQI of 450, making it the most polluted city in the world.

Health experts have warned that the current levels of air pollution could have serious negative impacts on human health, leading to respiratory diseases, heart conditions, and other health risks.

The ongoing environmental crisis calls for immediate action to address the issue and protect public health.
