Pakistan, Bangladesh agree to further strengthen bilateral relations

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister and President-elect of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly Khalilur Rehman on the sidelines of the 33rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Ministerial Meeting in Manila.

According to a statement, the two leaders reviewed the current positive direction of Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and discussed ways to further expand cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, they highlighted the renewed momentum in bilateral ties following Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s visit to Bangladesh last year, which provided fresh impetus to diplomatic and economic engagement between the two nations.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and agreed to continue working towards enhancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The two officials welcomed the growing interaction between the countries, particularly the increase in people-to-people contacts and improved connectivity after the resumption of direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh this year.

They expressed satisfaction over these developments and agreed to sustain the positive trajectory in bilateral relations through continued engagement and closer cooperation.

The meeting also included discussions on regional and international developments, with both leaders exchanging views on issues of shared concern and mutual interest.

The talks took place as part of diplomatic engagements on the sidelines of the ARF Ministerial Meeting, where foreign ministers from across the region are participating to discuss regional cooperation, peace, and security matters.
