California (Web Desk): Instagram has rolled out a new Replace Audio feature that allows users to change the music attached to their previously shared feed posts.
According to Meta, the new update enables users to replace the existing soundtrack on old posts while keeping the post’s likes, comments, shares, and overall reach unchanged.
The company said the feature has been introduced to give users greater control over their previously published content, allowing them to make updates without having to remove and repost their content.
Previously, users who wanted to change the background music of an old post had to delete the post and upload it again with a new soundtrack, which meant losing the engagement and reach already gained.
With the new feature, users can now modify the audio of existing posts without affecting other details or performance metrics.
To use the option, users need to open a previously published post, tap the menu icon in the top-right corner, and select the Edit option. The option to replace the current audio will then appear.
Instagram has started rolling out the feature and it will gradually become available to all users worldwide.
