President, PM direct to accelerate rescue and relief operation in flood-hit areas

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have conveyed profound sadness over the tragic loss of lives due to heavy rains and flooding in different regions of the country.

In their separate statements, they urged the concerned authorities to speed up relief efforts in the affected areas.

Both leaders stressed the importance of offering full support and rehabilitation services to those impacted by the floods, calling for prompt and thorough assistance to help the victims recover from this calamity.

In an official message released by Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Asif Ali Zardari conveyed his deep sadness over the tragic loss of lives caused by intense rainfall and sudden floods affecting multiple regions of the country.

The president offered his sincere condolences to the families mourning their loved ones and prayed for peace and mercy upon those who have passed away.

He instructed the relevant agencies to swiftly carry out rescue and relief efforts in the impacted areas.

The president also highlighted the urgent need to extend comprehensive support and rehabilitation services to help those affected by the disaster rebuild their lives.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday conveyed his sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and widespread destruction caused by recent floods and heavy rainfall in various parts of the country.

He directed concerned authorities to intensify rescue efforts and ensure timely assistance reaches those in need.

Reacting to a distressing incident in Islamabad, where floodwaters swept away a vehicle carrying a man and his daughter, the premier instructed that every possible resource be utilized to locate and rescue the missing individuals. He stressed the importance of leaving no stone unturned in efforts to save lives.

The prime minister further emphasized the urgent need to provide medical treatment to those injured in these incidents and directed that emergency services remain on high alert

PM Shehbaz urged the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to maintain round-the-clock coordination with provincial administrations and relevant institutions to streamline rescue and relief operations.

In anticipation of further weather-related challenges, the premier underscored the importance of preemptive planning and readiness to manage any developing crises. He also tasked the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) with expediting the repair and restoration of roadways and key routes disrupted by the flooding.

Expressing heartfelt sympathies, he prayed for the departed souls and extended condolences to grieving families, reaffirming the government's commitment to standing by the affected communities during this difficult time.
