PMD warns of rain, snowfall and fog in parts of Pakistan

Lahore (Web Desk): The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted heavy winds, thunderstorms, rain, and snowfall in various parts of the country. According to the department, today, different regions are expected to experience rain accompanied by strong winds, and snowfall is likely in the mountainous areas. Additionally, dense fog and smog are expected in eastern Punjab and upper Sindh.

There are also chances of further rain in Islamabad and its surrounding areas. Rain with strong winds is anticipated in Murree and Galyat. Rawalpindi, Attock, and Jhelum may also experience rainfall.

Rain is expected in Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Multan, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalnagar. Fog is expected to persist in Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Khanewal, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.

Some areas in Balochistan are likely to receive more rainfall. Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Benazirabad, and Mohenjo Daro may experience fog. Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Buner, and Kohistan may also witness further rainfall. Snowfall is expected in Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bajaur, Merged Areas, Khyber, and Orakzai.

The meteorological department has also forecasted heavy winds, rain, and snowfall in the mountainous areas of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

This change in weather calls for citizens to take precautionary measures, especially considering the impact of fog and snowfall during travel.
