Quetta (Agencies): A senior police officer was martyred and three others were injured in exchange of fire with dacoits in Gandakha city, an area of Jaffarabad, Baluchistan on Friday.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Nasirabad Nazeer Ahmed Kurd told the media that two criminals including the mastermind of the gang were also killed.
Acting on a tip off, a police team led by SHO Gandakha Raheem Bakhsh Marri conducted raid at a place. On seeing the police, the armed men opened fire at the raiding team. As a result, Sub-Inspector Raheem Bakhsh was martyred and three police men sustained serious wounds, the DIG added.
The killed robber was identified as Zulfiqar alias Zulfi, a proclaimed offender (PO) who was involved in kidnapping for ransom and other notorious crime cases in Baluchistan and Sindh.
