Google introduces new AI features in maps

Las Vegas (Web Desk): Google has introduced new generative artificial intelligence (AI) features in its widely used navigation service Google Maps, aiming to significantly enhance its visual and data analytics capabilities.

The announcement was made during a company event held in Las Vegas.

One of the key features is Maps Imagery Grounding, which allows businesses to generate realistic visualizations using Google Street View–like imagery.

This helps users see how a project would look at a specific location. Users will be able to input prompts related to their projects, and the system will create a storyboard-style visual within seconds.

Google has also introduced a feature called Aerial and Satellites, designed to improve the analysis of satellite data. It enables users to examine satellite images stored in Google Cloud for more detailed insights.

In addition, the company unveiled two new Google Earth AI imagery models trained to identify specific objects such as bridges, roads, and power lines within satellite and aerial images.

According to Google, these models will remove the need for developers to build AI systems from scratch for such tasks, making development faster and more efficient.
