Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan has called for an orderly and responsible withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan to avert any security vacuum.
Responding to a question at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said Pakistan has consistently been supportive of the ongoing Afghan peace process.
He said Pakistan is committed for peace in Afghanistan and prosperity of the Afghan people and we support the Afghan-owned and Afghan-led settlement of the situation, the Radio Pakistan reported.
Answering another question, the spokesperson said Pakistan wants resolution of all outstanding disputes with India through dialogue of which Kashmir is the core issue.
“India's illegal and unilateral acts of 5 August 2019 vitiated the environment and now onus is on India to create enabling environment for meaningful and result oriented dialogue,” Chaudhri said.
Responding to another question, he said all Chinese nationals are safe in the recent terrorist attack in Quetta.
The FO spokesperson said that adequate security measures are in place for the security of Chinese nationals and diplomats working in Pakistan.
