Iran says it is reviewing US response to proposal

Tehran (Web Desk): Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has confirmed that Tehran has received new proposals from the United States (US), which are currently under detailed review.

Speaking to state media, he stated that Pakistan is playing an important mediating role between the two sides in these talks, helping facilitate communication and dialogue.

Baqaei further emphasized that if the US is serious about demonstrating goodwill in the negotiations, it must immediately halt ongoing actions against Iranian vessels.

He added that Iran is fundamentally seeking its legitimate rights, and insisted that the removal of all US-imposed sanctions on Iran is essential for any meaningful progress in the process.

Iran continues to insist that these measures are essential components of any potential understanding between the two sides, while the latest exchange signals that diplomatic communications between Tehran and Washington remain active through indirect channels.

Earlier on Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said that Washington would extend Iran “one shot” to move forward on an understanding, making clear that the United States was not rushing into any agreement.

Speaking to reporters, Trump noted that he was in no hurry to bring the standoff with Iran to a close.
The US president added that achieving the intended goals of the mission was more important than committing to any fixed deadline.

“Just a limited deal, just for a longer ceasefire. We'd have to open the strait, which would open immediately. So we're going to give this one shot. I'm in no hurry,” he said.
