British PM offers condolences to Pakistan over deadly floods 

Islamabad (Web Desk): British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has expressed his condolences and solidarity with Pakistan following the devastation caused by recent monsoon rains and floods, which have resulted in considerable loss of life and widespread damage.

In a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Starmer conveyed his heartfelt sympathy for the people of Pakistan.

He said, “I extend my heartfelt condolences to you and the people of Pakistan on the tragic loss of lives caused by the recent monsoon-related disasters.”

The British premier noted the sorrow felt across the United Kingdom in response to the severe destruction caused by the extreme weather.

“My thoughts are with all those affected by this tragedy,” he wrote, acknowledging that the situation resonates deeply with many families in the UK who have personal connections to Pakistan.

Reflecting on the emotional impact in Britain, he added, “The entire British public stands in solidarity with the people of Pakistan during this difficult time.”

Starmer also took the opportunity to commend the emergency workers and volunteers who have been actively helping flood-affected communities despite harsh conditions. “I commend the emergency response teams and volunteers who are helping people under such difficult conditions,” the letter stated.

In addition, the British premier praised the ongoing collaboration between the two countries and reiterated the UK’s intention to support Pakistan in its recovery process.

“It is reassuring that the UK government has already extended support, and we stand ready to provide further assistance in Pakistan’s recovery and reconstruction efforts,” he assured.

PM Shehbaz responded by expressing gratitude for the message of support and acknowledged the UK’s continued assistance during this period of national hardship.
