COAS Bajwa, Qatari foreign minister discuss regional security

Rawalpindi (Staff Report/Agencies): Qatar's Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters(GHQ).

According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday, matters of mutual interest including regional security issues were discussed in the meeting.

The COAS said Pakistan will continue to positively contribute towards regional peace and stability, the statement added.

The visiting dignitary acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s achievements in the fight against terrorism and continued efforts for peace and stability in the region.

Earlier, the Qatari FM met his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi where the two discussed bilateral relations and matters pertaining to mutual interest.

Qatar‘s FM visit comes days before the premier Imran Khan is expected to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the second time on October 23.

Khan is visiting Riyadh on the special invitation of Saudi King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz to participate in Future Investment Initiative Conference.
