Lahore (Web Desk): The 13th death anniversary of film and drama actress Tamanna Begum was observed on Thursday.

Born in 1944, she began her illustrious journey in the world of entertainment through Radio Pakistan.

Her entry into the film industry came in 1962 with Daaman, but it was in 1977 that she garnered significant recognition by winning the Nigar Award for Best Supporting Actress for her exceptional performance in Bharosa.

Throughout her career,  Tamanna Begum graced the silver screen in over 260 films, often portraying complex, antagonistic roles, but also bringing humour and charm to comedic characters.

Her versatile talent transcended cinema as she made a successful transition to television, where she became a familiar face in numerous drama serials, embodying a wide array of characters.

Though Tamanna Begum departed from this world on February 20, 2012, after battling kidney disease, her legacy endures through her contributions to both the film and television industries.
