DPM Dar stresses importance of uninterrupted energy supplies in phone call with Iranian FM Araghchi

Islamabad (Web Desk): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, with the Foreign Office (FO) confirming that the two officials exchanged views on the “latest regional developments”.

“Dar stressed the importance of uninterrupted energy supplies and the safe and expeditious passage of ships, particularly given their implications for developing countries and global supply chains. He underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means to ensure peace and stability in the region,” the statement said.

The two sides also reached an understanding to remain in regular contact and continue working together closely.

“The two agreed to maintain close cooperation and to meet in New York on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly,” the FO said.
