Sindh IG says influential figures under scanner in Pinky case, urges media not to glamorise her 

Karachi (Web Desk): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho on Tuesday appealed to the media to avoid portraying or glamorising alleged drug trafficker Anmol alias Pinky, stressing that such coverage could be misleading given the seriousness of the case.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, said that several influential and well-known individuals have surfaced during the investigation into the network.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, the Sindh police chief made it clear that no person involved in what he described as a “poison trade” would be granted any leniency, regardless of status or influence.

He disclosed that the accused was not operating through a single account, but allegedly maintained multiple hidden online accounts, all of which are currently under active investigation.

Providing details about the suspect’s operations and security concerns, IG Sindh said the woman primarily stayed in Lahore and was apprehended by law enforcement shortly after arriving in Karachi.

He termed the arrest a highly challenging operation carried out by police teams after extensive efforts.

During the press briefing, Javed Alam Odho urged the media not to glamorize the accused or portray her criminal life in a sensational manner that could inspire films or public fascination.

He also warned that due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation, the suspect could face potential threats at this stage.

The Sindh police chief further stated that the cases registered so far have already led investigators toward several shocking revelations.

According to police officials, scrutiny of the suspect’s accounts and the emergence of credible names linked to the network have prompted authorities to expand the scope of the operation nationwide.

Officials said efforts are now focused on identifying and arresting every facilitator connected to the alleged drug trafficking network, with authorities vowing to bring all those involved before the law in the coming days.
