PM Shehbaz reaffirms Pakistan's resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity

Quetta (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reiterated that Pakistan remained fully prepared to protect its sovereignty and territorial boundaries, warning that any hostile move would be met with a firm response.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier said this while addressing faculty members and officers undergoing training at Command and Staff College Quetta.

PM Shehbaz commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their professionalism, combat readiness, and immense sacrifices made for the country’s security and stability.

He also honoured the martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the nation and praised the armed forces for their continued dedication to safeguarding the homeland.

Referring to Marka-e-Haq, the premier described it as a landmark success achieved by the Pakistan Armed Forces under the command of Syed Asim Munir.

PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan had acted with restraint and responsibility in the face of what he called India’s unjustified and provocative aggression. He added that Pakistan’s balanced, careful, and principled approach had received recognition from the international community.

The premier further noted that “Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq” was being carried out with determination to protect innocent civilians from terrorist groups backed by the Afghan Taliban, while also targeting militant hideouts and their support networks.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position on regional issues, he repeated the country’s steadfast support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.

Referring to the participation of officers from friendly nations at the institution, the prime minister highlighted the importance of defence cooperation and military diplomacy.

He said Pakistan was continuing to play the role of a net regional stabiliser by contributing towards peace, security, and development across the region and beyond.

The visit was also attended by the federal ministers for defence, interior, and information, along with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti.

Earlier, upon arrival at Command and Staff College Quetta, PM Shehbaz was received by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
