Pakistan joins 10 countries condemning Israel's attack on Gaza-bound flotilla

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan and nine other countries have strongly condemned the renewed Israeli assaults against the Global Sumud Flotilla.

In a jointly issued statement, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Turkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Maldives and Spain expressed deep concern over previous Israeli actions involving humanitarian flotillas sailing in international waters.

The ministers denounced the continued targeting of civilian boats and humanitarian campaigners, describing such measures as hostile and unjustified.

They stated that assaults on the vessels, along with the detention of activists, represent clear violations of international law as well as humanitarian legal standards.

The joint statement also highlighted serious worries about the protection and wellbeing of civilians taking part in the flotilla mission. The ministers demanded the immediate release of all detained activists and called for their rights and dignity to be fully upheld.

They further noted that repeated attacks on peaceful humanitarian efforts demonstrate ongoing disregard for international legal obligations and the principle of free navigation at sea.

Calling for a stronger global response, the ministers urged the international community to meet its legal and ethical responsibilities by ensuring the safety of civilians and humanitarian missions, while also taking practical measures to end impunity and guarantee accountability for such actions.
