Israeli forces seize Gaza-bound aid flotilla, detain several activists, claims British media

Gaza / Tel Aviv (Web Desk): Israeli naval forces have reportedly launched a raid on the "Global Sumud Flotilla," a Gaza-bound humanitarian aid convoy, detaining all individuals onboard.

 According to British media, two of the flotilla’s vessels were intercepted and boarded by Israeli troops as they approached Gaza’s maritime boundary.

Organizers claim the flotilla's navigation and communication systems were disabled during the operation, effectively cutting off all live broadcasts. They allege that the attack constitutes a clear violation of international and maritime law.

The Global Sumud Flotilla consists of over 40 vessels carrying more than 500 humanitarian workers and activists from around the world. The convoy was delivering food and medical supplies to Palestinians trapped in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Among the passengers were several prominent international figures, including Nobel Peace Prize laureate Greta Thunberg, the grandson of Nelson Mandela, and former Pakistani Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan.

According to flotilla representatives, Israeli troops forcibly boarded at least one of the vessels, while the status of the remaining boats remains uncertain. Organizers insist that despite the assault, their humanitarian mission will continue.

This incident echoes the infamous 2010 Mavi Marmara raid, where Israeli forces killed nine activists on a Turkish-led aid ship, sparking global condemnation.
