Karachi: Islamabad United clinched their third Pakistan Super League (PSL) title by defeating Multan Sultans in the final match played at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium on Monday.
Islamabad United grabbed the victory by two wickets.
The thrilling encounter reached its climax on the final ball when Hunain Shah, facing one run to win.
Shadab Khan-led Islamabad won their third PSL title, adding to their title wins in 2016 and 2018, has become the most successful team in the event’s history.
Muhammad Rizwan-led, Multan Sultans, after this loss, have lost three consecutive PSL finals. In 2022 and 2023 finals, Multan were beaten by Lahore Qalanders.
