Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,521,513 on Saturday after 483 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 39,067 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 1.23%.
Overall 573,374 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 504,324 in Punjab, 218,583 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 35,458 in Balochistan, 134,930 in Islamabad, 11,662 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 43,209 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 30,328 with 2 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,475,473 after another 1,857 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, nearly three dozen companies worldwide will soon start making generic versions of Pfizer’s coronavirus pill, the UN-backed Medicines Patent Pool that negotiated the deal has said.
The Medicines Patent Pool said in a statement that agreements signed with 35 companies should help make Pfizer’s antiviral nirmatrelvir, or Paxlovoid, available to more than half of the world’s population, a foreign news agency reported.
It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 468,447 million and death toll tops 6,093,950.
