Israel threatens to kill Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei

Tel Aviv (Web Desk): Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued a direct threat against Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, following a ballistic missile strike on Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheva.

The missile attack, attributed to Tehran, resulted in casualties and has been labeled by Israeli officials as a deliberate assault on civilians. Katz warned that Khamenei would face personal consequences for orchestrating such aggression, declaring that the supreme leader “can no longer be allowed to exist.”

Katz further stated that Israel intends to expand its military campaign by targeting high-value strategic locations across Iran.

These operations, according to him, are designed to dismantle threats to Israel’s security and undermine the pillars of Khamenei’s authority. Although Katz’s comments were unequivocal, it remains uncertain whether an official Israeli directive has been issued to carry out a direct attack on Iran’s top leadership.

In Washington, former President Donald Trump reportedly blocked previous Israeli proposals to assassinate Khamenei.

Trump, who has continued to influence U.S. foreign policy, is said to favor preserving diplomatic channels with Tehran, even amid escalating hostilities. His stance reflects a cautious approach toward any action that could plunge the region into a broader war.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the missile strikes via a post on the social media platform X, accusing Iran’s leadership of intentionally targeting hospitals and civilian areas.

Netanyahu described the Iranian regime as terrorist oppressors and pledged that Israel would hold them fully accountable.

He assured the public that the government remains committed to defending its citizens and will continue to retaliate against Iranian provocations.

As the situation intensifies, the notion of targeting Iran’s supreme leader introduces a volatile new layer to the ongoing conflict.
