BCCI threatens to boycott Asia Cup 2025, demands change in ACC meeting venue

India (Web Desk): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has once again stirred controversy regarding the hosting of the Asia Cup, demanding a change in the venue for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting.

According to reports from Indian media, BCCI has warned of boycotting the 2025 Asia Cup if the scheduled venue for the ACC’s annual meeting on July 24 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is not changed.

The Indian board has made it clear that they will not attend the meeting unless the venue is altered. BCCI's stance is reportedly supported by other nations such as Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Oman, who have also called for a change in the meeting location.

In response to these objections, the President of the Asian Cricket Council, Mohsin Naqvi, proposed that board members who object to the venue could join the meeting via Zoom.

The 2025 Asia Cup is expected to take place in September this year, but the ongoing tensions between the cricketing boards could pose challenges for the event's organization.
