Islamabad (Web Desk): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi on Monday said that the caretaker government has fulfilled its responsibility by holding the general elections.
Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said that the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs will forward a summary to convene the National Assembly (NA) session once the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) releases the list of elected candidates.
As per the Constitution, the president is bound to convene the NA session after the official announcement of election results or issuance of its notification within 21 days.
The minister said that an investigation committee has been formed on the matter of the Commissioner Rawalpindi, the Radio Pakistan reported.
He said that the ECP is taking action on this matter.
“We should trust our institutions and system,” the information minister added.
