Lahore (Web Desk): A local court in Lahore on Friday issued arrest warrants for 12 Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at the request of police in a case related to ruckus in Punjab Assembly during the election of chief minister on Apri 16.
According to details, Punjab Police sought permission from the court to arrest Attaullah Tarar, Bilal Farooq Tarar, Saiful Malook Khokhar, Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Laghari, Mirza Jawed, Pir Khizer Hayat, Raja Sagheer Ahmed, Abdul Rauf, Pir Ashraf Rasool, Bilal Farooq, and Rana Mannan Khan.
Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Mudasir Hayat while accepting the request issued the arrest warrants for the PML-N leaders.
Police officials told the court that a case was registered against the 12 PML-N leaders for which they "deliberately did not appear" and said the arrests are sought for completion of the investigation.
Reacting to the development, Tarar said that the warrants against him and his brother, Bilal Tarar, are a “return gift” from Pervez Elahi for all the favours given to him by his ancestors.
Terming the case “ridiculous”, the PML-N leader tweeted, “We will fight this political revenge and even if you add the name of my entire family members we will not surrender.”
