Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): Pakistan on Monday recorded 5,152 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s Covid-19 tally to 761,437.
According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the country’s death toll climbed to 16,316 after 73 people succumbed to the deadly disease during the last 24 hours.
At least 3,362 patients recovered from the deadly disease in a day taking total recoveries to 662,845.
According to NCOC, total active Covid-19 cases across the country were reported to be 82,276.
Meanwhile, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said that the need for safety precautions is greater than ever.
“Global Covid-19 cases exceeding 750,000 per day and deaths more than 13,000. We are seeing some of the worst numbers since the pandemic started. Our neighborhood [is] in severe crises. Daily deaths in Iran [are] more than 300 and more than 1600 in India,” the minister said.
