Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem out of javelin medal race at World Athletics Championships

Tokyo (Web Desk): At the World Athletics Championship being held in Tokyo, Pakistan’s Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem was unable to advance to the medal-winning rounds in the javelin throw final.

Despite a promising start, Arshad’s campaign ended prematurely after he committed two fouls in his fourth round throws, which prevented him from qualifying for the top 8 athletes who move forward in the competition.

Arshad opened the final with a strong throw of 82.73 meters and later improved his distance to 83.75 meters on his third attempt.

However, his second and fourth throws were declared fouls, which significantly impacted his overall standing. After consecutive fouls, Arshad took a moment to consult with his coach Salman Butt to strategize for the remaining attempts.

Alongside Arshad, the defending world champion Neeraj Chopra of India also failed to qualify for the medal rounds, marking a surprising exit for both top contenders in the event.

The gold medal was ultimately claimed by Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago, who delivered an outstanding performance. Anderson Peters from Grenada secured the silver medal, while Curtis Thompson won the bronze.

This competition highlighted the intense level of global talent in the javelin throw, with some of the best athletes in the world battling for podium finishes.

Though Arshad fell short this time, his performance remains a testament to Pakistan’s growing presence in international athletics.
