4.9 magnitude quake jolts Swat, surrounding areas

Peshawar (Web Desk): Earth tremors were felt in Swat district and surrounding areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing panic among residents.

As soon as the tremors were experienced, people recited the Kalima Tayyaba and rushed out of their homes and offices towards open spaces in fear.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 130 kilometers. The epicenter was reported to be in the Hindu Kush mountain range.

Initial reports confirm that no loss of life or property has been reported so far; however, an atmosphere of fear persisted in the affected areas after the quake.
