Lalamusa (Web Desk): Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira's son was laid to rest in Lalamusa on Saturday.
The funeral prayers of Usama Qamar and his friend Hamza Butt were offered in Lalamusa area of Gujrat.
Usama Qamar and his friend died in a car accident near his hometown on Friday evening.
The teenagers were on their way home from Kharian when Osama lost control over the steering and the car rammed a roadside tree. Both the friends died on the spot.
Several prominent politician and personalities, who attended the funeral prayers for the teenagers, included PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, Federal Minister for Railways Shaikh Rasheed Ahmed, former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Chief Minister Syed Sindh Murad Ali Shah, former premier Raja Pervez Ashraf, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Gulam Ahmad Bilour and a large number of people from different walks of life.
Earlier on Saturday, PPP announced the suspension of all its political activities planned for the day.
President Dr Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) leader Sirajul Haq, Director General (DG) Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor and other notable personalities expressed grief and offered their condolences on the untimely death of Qamar Zaman Kaira's young son.
