Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday emphasized the critical need to further enhance Pakistan’s defence capabilities in response to current and future security challenges.
He reaffirmed that strengthening national defence remains a top priority for the country.
The president visited the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in Wah, where he was received by Chairman POF Wah, Lieutenant General Syed Tahir Hameed Shah. Also present during the visit were the Minister for Defence Production, Mohammed Raza Hayat Harraj, and the Secretary Defence Ministry of Production, Lieutenant General Muhammad Chiragh Haider (Retd).
During the visit, the chairman provided a detailed briefing on the various production units of POF and highlighted the organization’s essential role in fulfilling Pakistan’s defence requirements.
He also emphasized POF’s technological advancements, manufacturing capabilities, and contributions towards achieving self-reliance in defence production.
President Zardari toured several manufacturing factories, expressing appreciation for the technical expertise, commitment, and professionalism demonstrated by the workforce.
He praised POF for its significant role in bolstering the country’s defence production.
