Karachi (Web Desk): Gold rates moved higher in the local market on Thursday, as the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs2,200 per tola to reach Rs455,762, compared to Rs453,562 in the previous trading session, figures released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association showed.
The upward trend was also reflected in gram-based prices, with 10 grams of 24-karat gold increasing by Rs1,800 to settle at Rs390,742. At the same time, the rate of 10 grams of 22-karat gold climbed by Rs1,275 to Rs 357,919.
Silver prices followed suit, with the per tola rate advancing by Rs78 to stand at Rs6,900, while the price of 10 grams of 24-karat silver rose by Rs67 to close at Rs5,915.
In the global market, gold values strengthened by $22 to trade at $4,334 per ounce, whereas silver prices recorded a gain of $0.78, reaching $66.28 per ounce.
