Hajj operation 2026 officially begins as first flights depart from Karachi, Lahore

Karachi/Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan’s annual Hajj operations have officially begun, with the first Hajj flight departing from Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, carrying 160 pilgrims to the holy cities of Saudi Arabia.

Officials at the airport saw off the pilgrims and extended best wishes for their sacred journey.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, a large-scale operation has been organized under the government Hajj scheme. A total of 468 flights from across Pakistan will transport pilgrims to Saudi Arabia this year.

After Karachi, Hajj flights are also scheduled to depart today from Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan airports.

The ministry further stated that comprehensive arrangements for accommodation, food, and transport have been completed in Saudi Arabia to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims.

Authorities assured that all pilgrims will be transported in phases according to their schedules to avoid any inconvenience.

At the time of departure, scenes of joy and devotion were witnessed among the pilgrims, who also prayed for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan before leaving for the holy pilgrimage.
