Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed his government’s unwavering resolve to eliminate terrorism from Pakistan, pledging that those who threaten the country will face a crushing defeat and will never again dare to challenge its peace and stability.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review the law and order situation, he stressed that the national struggle against terrorism will persist until the menace is completely rooted out.
PM Shehbaz said that Pakistan’s adversaries feel threatened by the country’s growing economic progress and are attempting to destabilize it.
He lauded the relentless efforts of all national institutions and provincial administrations in their actions against terrorism.
The prime minister paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the security forces, noting that brave officers and soldiers are confronting terrorists day and night, often sacrificing their lives to protect the nation.
PM Shehbaz assured that the federal government will provide full support to all provinces in enhancing their capacity to combat terrorism and extremism.
He welcomed the cooperative spirit between federal and provincial governments in shaping a unified narrative against terrorism, describing it as a positive sign.
Stressing the importance of collective efforts, the premier called on all stakeholders to set aside political and personal differences in order to work together for the eradication of extremism.
He also issued directives to intensify the crackdown on smuggling and tighten control over human trafficking networks, ensuring that those involved are brought to justice.
PM Shehbaz emphasized the urgent need to complete Safe City projects in major cities to bolster surveillance and security.
During the briefing, the meeting was informed that a National and Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment centre has been established under NACTA to improve coordination and threat response.
It was also noted that a forensic science agency is now operational in Islamabad, while the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) is undergoing further development to enhance its capabilities.
