Karachi (Staff Report): The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday claimed to arrest a key suspect involved in the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine attack.
Addressing a joint press conference with Rangers, CTD Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Amir Farooq announced that Nadir Jakhrani alias Murshid was arrested in Manghopir area of the metropolis.
He informed that the planning of Sehwan attack took place at Dera Murad Jamali — a city located in Nasirabad District in Balochistan. He added that all the people of the group have been identified by the police officials and they are either killed or are on the run.
The militant Islamic State (IS) group had claimed responsibility for the deadly February attack in which at least 88 people were killed and 150 others were injured.
