In phone call, PM Shehbaz, Kazakh President Tokayev discuss bilateral ties and regional developments

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during which the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

The prime minister congratulated President Tokayev on the successful conduct of the constitutional referendum held on March 15 in Kazakhstan.

He noted that the strong public turnout and support for the new constitution reflect the people’s confidence in Tokayev’s visionary leadership and reform agenda.

He also expressed hope that these reforms would further strengthen governance, institutional stability, and national development in Kazakhstan.

During the conversation, PM Shehbaz referred to the Kazakh president’s recent visit to Pakistan last month and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to ensuring timely implementation of decisions taken during the visit.

He added that both sides would continue engagement to ensure effective execution of proposed memorandums of understanding and agreements.

President Tokayev, in turn, reiterated his invitation to the prime minister for an official visit to Kazakhstan later this year.

The two leaders also exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the situation in Afghanistan, and emphasized the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and connectivity for shared prosperity.

Prime Minister Shehbaz extended advance Eid-ul-Fitr greetings to President Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan, conveying his best wishes for peace, progress, and prosperity.
