Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Both Houses of the Parliament will meet today at the Parliament House in Islamabad to discuss budget proposals for the next fiscal year.
Session of the Senate will begin at 4:30 p.m. while that of National Assembly at 4:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, The PML-N has called a parliamentary meeting of its National Assembly members to discuss the political situation in the country and the budget.
On Sunday, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz at jati Umran in Raiwind.
A joint notification issued shortly after the Maryam-Bilawal meeting read: "Lengthy consultations took place between the two leaders.
"Leaders from both the parties were part of the consultations [wherein] the current situation of the country was analysed in detail," it added.
"Both [Maryam and Bilawal] agreed that all aspects of life in the country are on a downtrend.
"Country is being pushed into deep quicksand of economic deterioration [and all economic indicators pointing to an extreme crisis," the notification added.
