Islamabad (Web Desk): A delegation from Bahrain, led by Dr. Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, visited the Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday.
Upon the arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
The two sides engaged in a detailed discussion about enhancing bilateral relations, exploring new trade avenues, and fostering stronger parliamentary cooperation between their countries.
The dignitaries expressed a desire to further solidify the ties between Pakistan and Bahrain.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq emphasized the importance of their longstanding relationship, rooted in shared cultural, religious, and historical values, and stressed that strengthening parliamentary links could significantly benefit both nations.
The discussions also touched on the potential for greater collaboration in areas such as economic growth, trade, and technology.
Sadiq pointed out the alignment of Pakistan and Bahrain’s positions on key global and regional matters, underlining their mutual support at international forums.
In his remarks, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of Bahrain said his Dr Al-Musallam, noted Bahrain’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Pakistan across several sectors, including IT and trade.
He expressed his country’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s parliamentary initiatives and fostering bilateral ties in the digital space.
The Bahraini Speaker also took the opportunity to thank Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and his team for the warm hospitality extended to them during their visit.
Earlier, a high-level parliamentary delegation from Bahrain arrived in Islamabad on an official visit to Pakistan at the special invitation of NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Radio Pakistan reported.
Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Dr Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, is heading the high-level parliamentary delegation.
During the stay in Islamabad, the delegation will engage in high-level meetings with different stakeholders.
These meetings will focus on strengthening parliamentary ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
The Bahraini parliamentary delegation will also visit various cultural and historical sites.
