Shangla (Web Desk): At-least two police officials embraced martyrdom and two others sustained injuries in a violent late-night terrorists’ attack on a remote Gunangar police check post in the jurisdiction of Chakisar police station in Shangla distict of Khyber-Pakhtunkhaw (KP).
According to a police spokesperson, the attackers, armed with heavy weaponry, launched a simultaneous strike from multiple directions, aiming to overwhelm the officers on duty.
Despite the intensity of the attack, the police personnel stationed at the post mounted a fierce defense, managing to repel the terrorists and force them to retreat.
During the gun battle, Head Constable Nisar Ahmed was tragically killed on the spot, while ASI Muhammad Hassan, who was in charge of the post, sustained serious injuries. He was later rushed to Battagram Hospital, where succumbed to his injuries.
The loss of the two officers was deeply felt, and their funeral prayers were held at the Sher Ali Khan Shaheed Police Lines in Shangla.
The funeral was attended by senior police officials, as well as local leaders, who paid their respects to the fallen heroes.
KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) praised the extraordinary bravery and commitment displayed by the martyred officers.
He assured the public that the authorities would make every effort to bring those responsible for the attack to justice and that the sacrifices of ASI Muhammad Hassan and Head Constable Nisar Ahmed would never be forgotten.
Their courageous actions, he said, stand as a powerful reminder of the unwavering dedication of police forces in protecting the nation, and their martyrdom would continue to inspire their colleagues and fellow citizens alike.
