Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Command and Operation Centre on Friday announced that the winter vacations for educational institutions will begin from January 3, 2022.
According to details, the decision was announced in the NCOC meeting headed by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, held to review the rescheduling of winter vacations.
Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood and Special Assistant to Prime the Minister (SAPM) on Health Dr Faisal Sultan also attended the meeting.
It was decided during the meeting the areas affected by extreme weather conditions or fog are exempted from the decision.
As per the forum, the provincial authorities will notify accordingly.
In a tweet , the NCOC stated, “During today’s NCOC session, it is decided that Winter vacation in education sector will start from 3rd January 22 apart from Fog / Smog hit districts of Pakistan. Federating units will issue notifications accordingly.”

The Sindh government has already announced winter holidays in all educational institutions from Dec 20 to January 3.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday directed the government to consider closing schools on account of winter vacations from December 23 to the first week of January.
Earlier, the NCOC and the federal education ministry appeared to differ regarding the start of winter vacations, as the former at its meeting on December 15 recommended the commencement of winter vacations in the middle of January, a day after the federal education minister announced that holidays would start from December 25.
