PM Shehbaz directs SMEDA to formulate comprehensive strategy for financial support of SMEs

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to develop a comprehensive plan to provide financial assistance to small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs) across the country.

The prime minister issued the directives while presiding over a meeting in Islamabad, stressing that encouraging entrepreneurship and ensuring equal access to facilities and technical support across all regions should remain key priorities for SMEDA.

He also called for the expansion of existing SMEDA initiatives aimed at increasing women’s participation in small and medium-sized businesses and industries.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need to make effective use of digital platforms to help Pakistani entrepreneurs connect with both domestic and international markets.

The prime minister further directed that SMEDA’s business development initiatives should extend to as many regions and economic sectors as possible. He also called for a dedicated strategy to establish stronger production and commercial linkages for agricultural commodities.

The meeting was informed that a range of measures was being implemented at different levels to strengthen small and medium-sized industries and facilitate entrepreneurs.
