Govt hikes high-speed diesel by Rs2.78 per litre, keeps petrol price unchanged

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government has announced a revision in fuel prices, raising the rate of high-speed diesel while leaving petrol unchanged.

In a notification issued on Monday, the Ministry of Finance confirmed that the price of high-speed diesel has been increased by Rs2.78 per liter, moving from Rs269.99 to Rs272.77 per liter.

Petrol, however, will continue to be available at the existing rate of Rs264.61 per liter.

The revised prices will come into effect from September 16 and remain applicable until September 30, 2025.

Officials stated that the decision reflects the policy of transferring the impact of global market fluctuations to the local market.
