At least 15 killed, 8 injured as truck overturns on Swat Expressway 

Malakand (Web Desk): At least 15 people died and eight others sustained injuries in horrific road accident occurred near Tunnel No. 3 on the Swat Motorway.

According to rescue sources, the victims belonging to the same family, included men, women and children.

As soon as the incident was reported, Rescue 1122 and police teams rushed to the location with ambulances and medical staff. Motorway police and officials also reached the area and joined in the rescue efforts.

During the coordinated operation, motorway personnel used their own vehicles to transport several of the deceased and injured to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Batkhela, Malakand, while Rescue 1122 teams carried the remaining victims to the same facility.

The doctors confirmed that 15 people had died while treatment was being provided to the eight injured.

They added that four of the wounded, who were in serious condition, were later transferred to Swat for advanced medical care.

As per the initial reports, all those affected were members of a nomadic family from the Gabrial area of Bahrain Tehsil in Swat District, who customarily migrated between regions with the changing seasons.

The accident was extremely severe in nature. However, timely and professional action by Rescue 1122 Malakand helped prevent further loss of life.
