Army major martyred, 3 India-backed terrorists killed in Balochistan IBO: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): A Pakistan Army major embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation (IBO), the military’s media said on Wednesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on 16 July 2025, Security Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Awaran District, on reported presence of terrorists belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Hindustan.

“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorist location and resultantly, three Indian sponsored terrorists were sent to hell” the statement said.

However, during the intense fire exchange, Major Syed Rabnawaz Tariq (age: 34 years, resident of District Muzafarabad), a brave officer who was leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The military’s sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.

“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to the security forces for conducting a successful operation against Fitna-al-Hindustan in Awaran area of Balochistan.

In their separate statements, they also paid tribute to Major Syed Rabnawaz Tariq, who embraced martyrdom while fighting bravely during the operation.

They offered prayers for the high rank of the martyr and patience for his family.

President Zardari said that the nation will always remember the sacrifices of its brave martyrs.

He lauded the bravery of the security forces for eliminating the terrorists sponsored by Fitna al Hindustan during the intelligence-based operation.

The president said that the security forces will continue their operations until the complete elimination of terror.

“Our resolve to eradicate terrorist elements and defend the country will remain unwavering,” President Zardari said.

In his statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the professional capabilities of security forces for killing three terrorists of Fitna-al-Hindustan during the operation.

He expressed the resolve to continue fight until the menace of terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.

He said that the entire nation, including himself, is proud of martyrs and their families.

The prime minister said that the officers and soldiers of Pakistan Army are working day and night to thwart the evil designs of the enemy.

“The entire nation is standing shoulder to shoulder with Pakistan's brave armed forces in the war against terrorism,” PM Shehbaz said.
