PIA signs major agreement with Indonesia's Garuda to boost exports

Karachi (Web Desk): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has taken a significant step to support Pakistani exporters by signing an important agreement with Indonesia's national carrier, Garuda Indonesia.

The agreement, a Cargo Special Pro-Rate Agreement, will provide Pakistani exporters with seamless and easy access to global markets. The agreement is set to come into effect from January 2026 and will remain in place until July 2027.

Under this agreement, Pakistani exports will be routed through Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur, reaching Jakarta and other international cities. Additionally, cargo services will also be provided to Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, facilitating easier access to markets in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Seoul, and Australia.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the objective of this agreement is to increase Pakistan's exports and streamline the air cargo business, ensuring competitive rates and priority cargo delivery for exporters and freight agents. This collaboration is expected to enhance trade relations and improve the logistics infrastructure for Pakistani goods in international markets.
