Govt reduces petrol price by Re1, high-speed diesel by Rs4

Islamabad (Web Desk): The federal government on Saturday announced a price cut for petrol and other petroleum products for the next fortnight effective from today (February 16).

According to notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs1, bringing the cost down to Rs256.13 per litre, a slight decrease from Rs257.13.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been reduced by Rs4, now priced at Rs263.95 per litre, compared to the previous rate of Rs267.95. Other petroleum products, such as kerosene oil, will also see a reduction.

Kerosene oil will now cost Rs171.65 per litre, a reduction of Rs3.20, down from Rs174.85.

Meanwhile, the price of light-diesel oil will be lowered by Rs5.25, bringing it to Rs155.81 per litre, down from Rs161.06.

This move follows a review by the Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) in light of changes in the global fuel market.
