Islamabad (Web Desk): The Election Commission of Pakistan on Wednesday announced to conduct first phase of Local Government (LG) polls in Punjab on May 29, 2022.
According to details, the decision was taken in a meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) which met in Islamabad with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Sikandar Sultan Raja in the chair.
In the first phase, LG polls will be held in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Muzzafar Garh, Layyah, Khanewal, Vehari, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Toba Tek Singh, Khushab, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Jehlum and Attock.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar along with provincial Minister for Local Government and Community Development Department Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore on Wednesday.
During the meeting, strategy and other related issues over the upcoming local bodies’ elections in the province were discussed.
