Lahore (Web Desk): The 5th death anniversary of celebrated Pakistani film actress Firdous Begum is being observed today (Tuesday).

Born as Parveen in Lahore, British India on 4 August 1947, she carved a distinctive place for herself in the film industry through her exceptional talent and compelling performances.

At the peak of her career, she shared the screen with some of the most renowned actors of her era, including Akmal, Ijaz Durrani, Habib, Sudhir, and Yousuf Khan.

These collaborations not only enhanced her artistic stature but also contributed to the creation of several iconic films in Pakistani cinema.

Firdous Begum gained immortal fame for her portrayal of Heer in the film Heer Ranjha, which is still celebrated as a landmark in Pakistani cinema. Her performance in this role won her a permanent place in the hearts of audiences and solidified her artistic legacy.

Throughout her illustrious career, she appeared in numerous successful films, including Fanoos, Khandan, Malangi, Lai Lag, and Aurat, showcasing her versatility across Punjabi, Urdu, and Pashto cinema, with over 150 films to her credit.
