Caretaker govt increases petrol price by Rs17.50 per litre

Islamabad (Web Desk): The caretaker government on Tuesday night announced to increase the prices of petroleum products for the next 15 days.

According to the notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs17.50 per litre and high speed diesel by Rs20 per litre.

“Petroleum prices in the international market have increased during the last fortnight. As a result the consumer prices in Pakistan are also being revised,” the Finance Division stated.

Following the revision, the new petrol price will be Rs290.45 per litre while the price of high speed diesel Rs293.40 per litre.

The new fuel prices are effective from August 16 (Wednesday).

Earlier on August 1, the outgoing Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led government had announced a massive Rs19 per litre increase in the price of petrol and diesel.
